Handicap walkers are becoming more prominent in modern society. Consider that in the early 20th century, the average life expectancy was between 30-45 years of age. The current world average lifespan is now 67.2 years. As people are living longer, the need for equipment to assist them in getting around is greater than ever.
From infancy throughout adulthood, humans strive for the goal of independence. Most of us get used to doing things on our own without depending on others for assistance. It’s inevitable that, as we age, we’ll lose some, if not all, of this independence.
